These Terms explain the rules for using Scrüd and the limits of the pilot’s dating, planning and safety features.

Before you join:
Scrüd helps adults meet and make plans. Every person decides whether to communicate or meet. Scrüd does not guarantee identity, conduct, compatibility, a response, a date, a reservation or personal safety.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms are an agreement between you and Scrüd LLC and incorporate our Acceptable Use Policy, effective September 25, 2026. By creating or using a Scrüd account, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use Scrüd.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18, legally able to enter this agreement, and permitted to use Scrüd under applicable law. The Denver pilot may require an invitation or approval. Provide accurate information, represent yourself honestly, and use only your own account. Keep sign-in codes private and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must complete the required profile, provide a clear current selfie and record the required approximately 10-second introduction before your dating profile can become visible. You may replace your selfie through the available profile controls. A profile photo or introduction is not an identity check. Any verification badge reflects only the specific check described by Scrüd and does not guarantee a member’s identity, background, intentions or conduct.
3. What Scrüd provides
Scrüd helps members share availability, discover people, express interest, form mutual matches, message and agree on date plans. Map availability represents a chosen meeting area, not verified physical presence. Current maps do not show a person’s live approach or precise GPS location. Matching and availability do not guarantee a response or meeting.
The Sparks Society is an optional private dating journal and planning feature. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record information about another person. Private notes, ratings and personal reminders are not displayed to that person or copied into their Scrüd profile. They remain subject to the Privacy Notice and these conduct rules. Account linking is separate from profile transfer and requires confirmation in both accounts. Connection imports are still being verified; linking never transfers a profile automatically.
4. Respect, consent and prohibited conduct
These rules apply to profiles, photos, videos, messages, invitations, The Sparks Society entries, and conduct connected with your use of Scrüd, including meetings arranged through it. You must not engage in, attempt, facilitate, promote or help another person carry out prohibited conduct.
Consent and personal boundaries
Every person chooses whether to communicate, share information or meet. Consent must be freely given, informed, specific and ongoing, and may be withdrawn at any time. A match, date invitation, gift, payment or previous relationship is not consent to sexual activity or further contact. Respect a refusal, stop contact when asked, and do not evade a block.
Human trafficking and exploitation
Human trafficking, including sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, forced labor, involuntary servitude and exploitation through force, fraud or coercion, is strictly prohibited. You must not use Scrüd to recruit, solicit, advertise, transport, arrange, facilitate or knowingly benefit from trafficking or exploitation of any person.
Abuse and aiding or encouraging abuse
You must not commit, attempt, aid, abet, encourage, promote, arrange or facilitate abuse or exploitation of another person. This includes sexual abuse or assault, domestic or dating violence, coercive control, threats, intimidation, blackmail, sextortion, stalking, and physical or psychological abuse. You must not use money, gifts, private information, intimate images or threats of exposure to pressure another person.
Children and sexual exploitation
Scrüd is for adults 18 or older. Accounts operated by or on behalf of minors, sexual contact or solicitation involving minors, grooming, and child sexual abuse or exploitation are prohibited. Do not upload, request, create, possess through the service, distribute, link to or promote child sexual abuse material, including manipulated or synthetic material depicting child sexual abuse. Suspected child exploitation may result in immediate restrictions, preservation of relevant records and reports to the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Sexual services and prohibited content
Do not offer, request, advertise, broker or arrange prostitution, escort services, commercial sexual services, or sexual activity in exchange for money, gifts or other compensation. Sexually explicit profile content is prohibited, including explicit profile photos, video introductions, descriptions and links. Do not distribute pornography or explicit sexual content through Scrüd. Nonconsensual intimate imagery, secretly recorded intimate content, sexual deepfakes, threats to distribute such material and links to it are prohibited.
Illegal acts and other prohibited conduct
Do not use Scrüd to commit, organize, encourage or facilitate any illegal act, transaction, product or service. The following are prohibited even when a specific example is not separately named elsewhere in this policy.
Harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats or promotion of violence, or attacks on people based on protected characteristics.
Impersonation, deceptive profiles, misrepresenting age or identity, forged verification documents, or attempts to bypass age or identity checks. Your profile photo and introduction must honestly depict you.
Romance scams, phishing, fraud, money laundering, stolen payment details, or deceptive requests for money, gifts, investments or financial information.
Publishing another person's private address, contact details, account information, identity documents, precise location or other personal information without permission or another lawful basis. Do not track or surveil someone using Scrüd.
Uploading unlawful or stolen material, malware, or content that infringes another person's rights; compromising accounts or accessing information without authorization.
Spam, unauthorized advertising, commercial solicitation, scraping, harvesting member information or unauthorized automated access.
Evading an account restriction, manipulating reports, knowingly making false reports, or retaliating against a person who reports a concern or declines contact.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Scrüd a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, display and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve the features you use and to enforce these Terms. This licence ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except for limited retained records described in the Privacy Notice and copies other people saved outside Scrüd.
You are responsible for your content and must have the rights needed to submit it. Scrüd may remove content that violates these Terms or creates a safety, legal or security risk.
6. Date plans, reservations and payments
A date becomes an agreed plan in Scrüd when the other member accepts it. That does not reserve a restaurant, buy tickets or confirm outside availability. Members must complete and cancel reservations or purchases with the venue or provider. Scrüd is not responsible for outside charges, refunds, cancellations or venue services.
The founding pilot is currently free for invited members and does not automatically become a paid subscription. Food, drinks, tickets, transportation and venue charges are separate. Before any paid Scrüd membership or The Sparks Society add-on begins, Scrüd will show the total price and currency, billing interval, renewal terms, how to cancel, when access ends, and the applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy, and require your affirmative choice. No proposed The Sparks Society price is an active subscription offer. The current free pilot does not require a purchase and does not authorize future charges. Statutory cancellation and refund rights are not excluded. Contact help@scrudapp.com about an unexpected charge or billing question; do not send payment-card details.
7. Safety tools and meeting people
You decide whether, when and where to meet. Use good judgment, meet in a public place, arrange your own transportation, tell someone you trust about the plan, and do not send money or financial information to another member. Scrüd’s tools reduce some risks but cannot eliminate them.
Blocking, reports, check-ins and identity features are not professional monitoring, background checks or emergency services. Scrüd does not automatically contact police or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger in the United States, call 911. Email reminders, when enabled, may be delayed or fail and should not be your only safety plan.
8. Reports, no-shows and enforcement
Use the in-app block and report tools or email help@scrudapp.com to report suspected trafficking, exploitation, abuse, an underage account, harassment, fraud or other violations. Include the profile identifier or name, approximate time and a description if you can do so safely. Do not download or forward illegal sexual imagery, send identity documents, or investigate or confront the person yourself. Reporting does not notify emergency services; call 911 in a U.S. emergency.
Reports require review and do not by themselves prove misconduct. Scrüd may investigate, preserve relevant records, remove content, restrict features, suspend or close accounts, and notify authorities when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance or enforcement. Serious suspected violations may lead to immediate protective restrictions while a review is pending. We may cooperate with lawful investigations and make reports required by law. We do not promise continuous monitoring or an immediate response. Enforcement decisions depend on the available evidence, seriousness of the conduct and applicable law.
A no-show report may be submitted after the app’s grace period for an accepted or completed date. Scrüd’s intended rule restricts access after three confirmed non-test no-shows. A reported member may respond, and owner review is required. Scrüd may apply a different action when the evidence, safety risk or law warrants it.
You may appeal an account restriction by emailing help@scrudapp.com from your sign-in address with the subject “SCRÜD account appeal.”
9. Ending your account
You may stop using Scrüd at any time and request account deletion through Help & account requests. Clearing a chat, unsending a message or ending a match is different from deleting an account. Scrüd may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, creates risk, or is no longer eligible for the pilot. The Privacy Notice explains deletion and limited retention.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scrüd and the pilot are provided “as is” and “as available.” Scrüd LLC disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service, successful matches, member accuracy, compatibility, reservations, attendance, conduct or safety. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scrüd LLC and its owners, officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profits or data, or another member’s conduct. Scrüd LLC’s total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Scrüd during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
12. Governing law and disputes
Colorado law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, contact us and give both sides 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Claims that are not resolved may be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Denver, Colorado, except that either party may use an eligible small-claims court. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive participation in a class action.
13. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will provide notice of material changes and request renewed agreement when required. The September 25, 2026 update adds explicit trafficking, exploitation and abuse prohibitions, expands reporting and enforcement information, and clarifies The Sparks Society and the free pilot. Members are asked to review and accept this version; an earlier acceptance is not treated as acceptance of this update. If part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our permission. These Terms and the Privacy Notice form the agreement about the Scrüd service.
