YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy Notice
This notice explains what Scrüd collects, why we use it, what other members can see, and the choices you have.
Scrüd uses the information needed to run an adult dating service: your account, profile, introduction, availability, matches, messages, date plans and safety activity. The live map shows the meeting area you choose, not your precise device location. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
1. Who operates Scrüd
Scrüd LLC operates Scrüd. This notice applies to the Scrüd website, app and Denver founding pilot. Contact help@scrudapp.com with privacy questions or requests.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect your email address, account and session identifiers, first name, private last name, age, gender, dating preferences, city, About You, interests and any optional profile details you provide. Scrüd requires a profile photo and a short video introduction before a real member can go live.
Activity and communications
We store your chosen availability and meeting area, expressions of interest, matches, messages, date proposals and responses, check-ins, feedback, blocks, reports and no-show reviews. We also receive information you send to support.
Verification and payments
If identity verification becomes available, Stripe will collect the identity document and selfie information required for its hosted verification process. Scrüd receives the verification session reference, status and limited result information; Scrüd does not intend to store your identity document or selfie in its own identity records. Stripe applies its own privacy terms. If paid membership launches, Stripe will process payment details. Scrüd does not receive complete payment-card numbers.
Technical information
Our hosting, authentication and security providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, including network requests, device or browser information, session records, errors and security logs. Browser storage remembers dismissed updates and check-in reminders by profile.
Sensitive information
Dating preferences, sexual orientation or activity, identity verification and information you choose to put in a profile or message may be sensitive. Scrüd asks for affirmative agreement to this notice and the Terms before creating or continuing an account. Do not put unnecessary sensitive information in messages, profiles or support emails.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate accounts and keep the service secure.
- Create profiles, determine profile readiness and display compatible members.
- Show availability, support mutual matches, messages and date plans.
- Provide check-ins, blocking, reporting, moderation and no-show review.
- Respond to support, privacy and account-deletion requests.
- Prevent fraud, investigate misuse, enforce the Terms and comply with law.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve Scrüd using service-level information.
We do not use private conversations to train an unrelated artificial-intelligence model. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party targeted advertising. If these practices change, we will update this notice and obtain consent when required.
4. What other members can see
Eligible members may see the profile information you make available, your introduction, photo, chosen meeting area and remaining availability. Your private last name and sign-in email are not displayed on your member profile. A matched person can see messages and date details exchanged with them. Someone who receives your content may save or screenshot it outside Scrüd.
The current map uses the meeting area you choose. It does not prove you are physically at a venue and does not display a live GPS journey or precise device location. If Scrüd later offers arrival sharing or precise location, we will explain it and request permission before it starts.
6. Retention, clearing and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the pilot, protect members, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record, whether the account is active, safety or fraud concerns, legal requirements, and backup cycles. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed under those criteria.
Clearing a chat hides existing messages from your view. Unsending replaces the message in both members’ views, but Scrüd may retain a safety record. Ending a match does not delete your account. Other people may retain copies outside Scrüd.
You may request account deletion at Help & account requests. We verify the request, remove or de-identify information that is no longer needed, and retain limited records when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, disputes or enforcing a restriction. Residual copies may remain in protected backups until they cycle out.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You can edit profile details, stop live availability, block a member and use the available report tools. You may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a portable copy of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent for future processing of sensitive information, which may require closing features or the account that depend on it.
Email help@scrudapp.com from your sign-in address with the subject “SCRÜD privacy request.” We may verify that the request concerns your account. Do not email passwords, one-time codes, payment-card details or identity documents. We aim to respond within 45 days. If we deny a request, reply with the subject “SCRÜD privacy appeal” and explain why you believe the decision should be reviewed.
Scrüd does not currently sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so there is no sale or targeted-advertising opt-out needed for current processing. We will honor legally required browser-based opt-out signals if those practices are introduced.
8. Security and age limits
We use administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information, including restricted access, authenticated sessions and private media controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in code private and contact us if you believe someone accessed your account.
Scrüd is for adults 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts. Contact us if you believe a person under 18 has provided information.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Scrüd changes. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice or request consent when required for a material change.
